Sri Pada (sacred footprint) aka Adams Peak - Holly Place For all Pilgrims

Sri lanka, Almost near to Indian border and a sea island, a very beautiful country with mountains and seaside view.From India's Madras or Tamilnadu, one can go to Sri Lanka by showing passport at floating passport office at India and Sri Lanka's international water border. Its very interesting..!!! Peoples of Sri lanka are very jolly, with fluent English like natives and they are almost all educated, i mean every person can read and write at least. One thing of Sri Lanka makes me very surprised that, though its a Buddhist country almost with 98% people, here Muslim Azan is broadcasted via radio every day 5 times. Once i hear that, a visitor asked some local peoples that, why Sri Lankan Government doing this..?? Then the visitor meets a very interesting topic which makes me if i visit Sri Lanka ever, that reason will be behind that.

This is Sri Pada, in meaning The Holy Footstep. This is the place i feel very much curiosity about. According to Srilankans and other religions pilgrims believe, this is the place where the first human Adam was landed from heaven by Angel Gabriel (According to Muslims) or the landing place for Shiva (God of destruction) from holy mountain kailash. All the story have one center point that is, here a big, really big footprint is founded ( bigger than Average human size) on a big stone. Believers believe that, this footprint was embedded into that stone permanently and it will be same as now until judgement day. 

  

It is commonly known as Adams Peak, Which is the highest place at Sri Lanka's land. According to Muslims, When Adam and Eve stayed together at haven, devil make a betrayal by disobeying the God's advice and Adam Put into Earth by angel Gabriel from heaven. For the fear of God's wrath, Adam stands on a stone crying for a very long time for God's forgiveness. For standing a very long time and for his tears, the stone melted and his foot print was embedded on that stone since then.

According to Hindu, When Lord Shiva decided to arrive into Earth from Kailash mountain, he chose this place to keep his feet so that whole earth will worship him in fear and asked him mercy. He was so big that, the earth cannot hold him longer and ask mercy. His footstep is embedded into that place where he first stepped. 

According to Buddhism, when The Great Buddha reached sri lanka, he climbed to Sri Pada for meditation and stand on one foot for long time and his footstep embedded into that stone by his meditation power. 

Religion beliefs are different, but all the believers believe that, this footprint is a message from God that behind every creation, there is a creator. Whatever Hindu, Muslims or Buddhists this stone print becomes sacred and a symbol of trust to the almighty.It has been said that, whosever see or visit this holy place, no matter how bad or evil he/she is, a trust to God will grow inside him/her and show's the right path of life, the meaning of life and believe. 

  

By this story (not exactly this, but almost this) the visitor came to know the reason behind it. Sri Lanka is a country where all regional people' are live peacefully together coz they believe whatever you believe Allah, Shiva or Buddha or Jesus, there is one creator behind all this names and if you are a truly believer from heart- 

we all come from him, made by him, and one day a call will come for returning to him.
